ALAMEDA COUNTY

22 September  In Hayward at the W Winton Ave trailhead of Hayward Regional Shoreline, a Brewer's Sparrow was one-eighth mile from the parking lot along the trail to the bay. A Willow Flycatcher was also in the general area.  Emilie Strauss

20 September  In Hayward at the W Winton Ave trailhead of Hayward Regional Shoreline, a Blackpoll Warbler was along the trail west of the parking lot in an area where the fennel is 6 feet high on both sides.  John Luther

20 September  In Fremont at Coyote Hills Regional Park, two Least Bitterns were calling from each side of the road just west of the entrance kiosk at 7 PM in an area with dense cattails on both sides of the road.  John Luther

15 September  In Fremont at Coyote Hills Regional Park, a Blackpoll Warbler was in the oak trees behind the two restrooms south of the visitor's center.  Jean-Marie Spoelman


CONTRA COSTA COUNTY

12 September  In Tilden Regional Park Nature Area (Berkeley Hills), a Northern Waterthrush was at the northwest corner of Jewel Lake, then flew off to the east side of the lake. Other highlights included Acorn Woodpecker and Fox Sparrows.  Emilie Strauss
