23 February In Oakland, the Black-and-white Warbler was still in Lakeside Park at Lake Merritt, in oaks just outside the Childrens Fairyland fence. 22 February East of Livermore, a bird reported as a probable Gray Flycatcher was at milepost 9.24 on Corral Hollow Rd in a small canyon. [This site would probably be in San Joaquin County. --Larry] The bird was "very pale" and "flicked its tail down." Art Edwards, George Bing

18 February In Martinez, an apparent immature Yellow-bellied Sapsucker was found at Hidden Lakes Park. Park in the lot at Chilpancingo Pkwy & Morello Ave. Take the path past the playground, which bends left at a soccer goal post. When the path forks, go left. You will be following some blue oaks. The bird was seen in a bright green leafy valley oak and the next bare blue oak.
